Job Title: Commis Chef Location: Tenda Oriental Takeaway, MAIN STREET. DULEEK, CO. MEATH, A92 H586 Job Type: Full-time Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Chinese chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate must have solid wok cooking skills, be familiar with traditional Chinese cooking techniques, and be able to work efficiently during peak hours. This role requires working on own initiative and taking responsibility for kitchen operations during busy periods. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and cook authentic Chinese dishes according to established recipes - Operate wok station and manage cooking temperatures and timing - Prepare ingredients, including meat, vegetable, and sauce preparation - Ensure consistent food quality, taste, and presentation - Maintain kitchen hygiene and follow HACCP food safety standards - Assist with stock management and rotation of fresh ingredients - Coordinate with other kitchen staff during busy service periods - Work on own initiative and manage kitchen workflow independently when required Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chinese chef in a professional kitchen - Proficient in wok cooking, stir-fry techniques, and sauce preparation - Knowledge of Chinese cuisine and traditional ingredients - Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment - Good communication and teamwork skills - HACCP certification is an advantage - Valid work permit / eligibility to work in Ireland Minimum Qualification : Level 5 (incl Leaving Certificate/ Leaving Certificate Applied/ Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme) OR Chinese food cooking qualification Desirable: Languages : Chinese C2-Master (Fluent) Comparison mode : AND - All Languages must match criteria.
