Overview The Department of Corrections is seeking an innovative and skilled data analyst to work within the Department's Research and Data Unit. Ideal candidates for the Corrections Analyst position will have experience with developing queries (preferably SQL), using Excel, and performing statistical analysis to fulfill data requests and reporting requirements. This position involves working with a team of analysts to collect, extract, clean, analyze, and report a variety of data to numerous audiences to support data-driven decision-making for the department. Strong statistical quantitative skills, including use of R or another statistical program is desired, as is experience using data visualization software (e.g., Power BI) and knowledge of creating infographics/other means of displaying complex data in an easy-to-understand format for external and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will be expected to present data to small and large groups, to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and to maintain the privacy of confidential and/or personal information. Meetings with data users and partners may require some travel, for which private means of transportation must be available. Some work outside of normal office hours may be required. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, data analytics, or related field AND two (2) years or more experience in data administration, business analysis, or statistics. OR Four (4) years or more experience in data administration, business analysis, or statistics. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency with data visualization software, specifically Power BI.
