The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician is a member of the Maintenance organization and reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, instrumentation, and other plant infrastructure and production equipment. Th E&I Technician supports a continuous 24/7/365 manufacturing operation and is assigned to a rotating 12-hour shift schedule. Candidates must be able to work days or nights on any assigned crew (A, B, C, or D), including weekends, holidays, overtime, and call-in support as required. Main Responsiblities: Comply with company policies and procedures, including all safety, sanitation, and GMP work policies Maintain production equipment and associated utilities; troubleshoot shutdowns and perform corrective maintenance to allow equipment/plant restarts; perform planned maintenance and preventative maintenance on system components. Maintain and troubleshoot PLC/HMI systems. Maintain and troubleshoot three-phase electrical systems (voltages up to 480) and equipment including motors, generators, UPS systems, breakers, and transformers. Interact with industrial switch gears and control systems. Troubleshoot process loops and their impact on equipment operations. Perform instrument calibration including flow, weight, pressure, and temperature instrumentation. Follow NFPA 70E safe work practices and the NEC while working on electrical systems. Read, interpret, and maintain (as needed) wiring diagrams, schematics, and drawings. Communicate updates regarding job tasks to Supervision and Production personnel. Maintain logs and records within CMMS. Other duties as assigned. Education, Language & Skills: Formal training or at least three (3) years of verifiable experience working with instruments and electrical equipment in a manufacturing industrial environment Have hands-on experience in troubleshooting PLC's, HMI’s, drives, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic mechanical and electrical skills. Able to troubleshoot 4-20mA transmitter, electro-pneumatic control loops, as well as industrial control components (e.g., solenoid valves, actuators, regulators, PID controllers, etc). Possess a working knowledge of regulatory and industrial standards and codes. Competent with computers and computer applications and aptitude for learning new software programs. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English About You: Must be able to freely move around entire facility. Ability to work at high heights, ie. on roofs, aerial lifts, elevated platforms, up to 50 feet while wearing fall protection and proper PPE Ability to stand on concrete floor for long periods of time Ability to climb stairs, often Bend, squat, stretch and reach frequently Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs, often Ability to work in and be exposed to heat. Ability to support a 24/7 365 production facility. Must be able to work overtime as needed.
