Job Description Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Interior Integration Domain: Mechanical Integration – Interiors & Cab Role Purpose We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead and deliver Interior & Cab mechanical integration activities for rolling stock projects. The role covers requirements management, detailed design, digital mock‑up, interface control, and production support , ensuring compliance with QCD commitments, customer requirements, and engineering standards . Key Responsibilities Mechanical Integration & Design Lead mechanical integration of interior and cab systems at train and sub‑system level Define and manage mechanical requirements, interfaces, and allocated volumes Develop 3D/2D installation designs , integration drawings, and space allocation models Perform interface dimensioning and FEA‑based justification when required Ensure design conformity for carry‑over solutions from existing platforms Digital Mock‑Up & CAD Own and manage Digital Mock‑Up (DMU) for assigned interior zones Ensure no‑clash , interface compliance, weight control, and volume respect Populate and maintain part attributes (material, Fire & Smoke, weight, naming, etc.) Review and validate CAD deliverables from internal teams and suppliers Project Execution & QCD Plan and pilot Mechanical Domain activities for assigned scope Secure on‑time, right‑first‑time delivery of engineering deliverables Prepare and lead Domain Design Reviews , closing actions as per schedule Report progress, risks, and deviations impacting Quality, Cost, and Delivery Industrialization & Support Participate in train industrial integration reviews Manage design changes, corrective actions , and production/validation issues Support Sourcing, Industrialization, Manufacturing , and ramp‑up activities Accountability Compliance with engineering processes, métier rules, and customer requirements Quality and acceptance of mechanical deliverables Interface consistency between train level, subsystems, and suppliers Contribution to risk mitigation, change management, and RoE Qualifications & Experience Education Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Experience Strong experience in Mechanical Integration / Interiors & Cab , preferably in rail or transport industry Proven exposure to train‑level integration and cross‑functional coordination Experience between 12 to 18 years from Engineering / Railway domain Technical Skills CATIA V5 (mandatory), PLM tools Mechanical integration, installation design, DMU management Knowledge of design V‑cycle, configuration & change management Professional Skills Structured, hands‑on, and delivery‑oriented mindset Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills Professional proficiency in English Why Join Us Long‑term career in a stable and innovative rail industry High‑impact engineering role with visibility at train level Collaborative, multicultural working environment Strong learning, development, and career growth opportunities Important to note As a global business, we’re an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates diversity across the 63 countries we operate in.
