Job Title: Territory Sales Manager – Midwest Department: Sales & Business Development Reports To: Director of Sales Location: Remote (Midwest Territory) Travel Required: Up to 50% with overnight travel Position Summary NCC Automated Systems, an ATS Company, is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Territory Sales Manager to drive business development, customer acquisition, and revenue growth throughout the Midwest region. The Territory Sales Manager will develop and execute strategic sales initiatives, cultivate long-term customer relationships, and identify new business opportunities across key manufacturing industries. The ideal candidate will possess strong consultative selling skills, technical aptitude, and a demonstrated ability to successfully manage complex sales cycles involving automation systems, engineered solutions, and manufacturing services. Territory Coverage The Midwest territory includes the United States and Canada, with primary responsibility for the following states and provinces: Michigan Illinois Indiana Ohio Wisconsin Minnesota Iowa Missouri North Dakota South Dakota Nebraska Kansas Kentucky Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Business Development Develop and execute territory sales strategies aligned with NCC's business objectives and growth initiatives. Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within the automation, packaging, consumer products, food and beverage, life sciences, automotive, and industrial manufacturing sectors. Expand NCC's market presence through proactive prospecting and relationship development activities. Develop strategic plans to penetrate targeted accounts and emerging markets. Customer & Account Management Establish and maintain strong relationships with executive-level decision makers, engineering teams, operations leaders, and procurement stakeholders. Manage existing customer accounts and identify opportunities for increased revenue and account expansion. Coordinate customer engagement activities with engineering, operations, project management, and leadership teams. Ensure exceptional customer experience throughout the sales and project lifecycle. Opportunity & Sales Pipeline Management Manage sales opportunities from lead generation through proposal development, negotiation, award, and project implementation. Lead solution-based sales discussions and identify customer business needs. Coordinate cross-functional resources to develop competitive proposals and presentations. Support contract negotiations and commercial discussions to achieve favorable business outcomes. Maintain an active and healthy sales pipeline to meet or exceed territory goals. Market Development & Competitive Analysis Research and analyze market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities. Identify emerging industries and growth opportunities within the assigned territory. Represent NCC at industry events, trade shows, conferences, and customer meetings. Serve as a market advocate by communicating customer needs and competitive insights to leadership. Forecasting & Reporting Maintain accurate customer records, opportunity tracking, and sales forecasts within the CRM system. Provide regular updates regarding pipeline activity, territory performance, and key account developments. Track and report sales metrics, business development activities, and territory performance indicators. Deliver market intelligence and customer feedback to support strategic business decisions. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience may be considered. Experience Minimum of five (5) years of industrial or technical sales experience. Experience selling automation systems, packaging equipment, capital equipment, manufacturing services, engineered solutions, or related products. Demonstrated success developing new business and achieving or exceeding sales targets. Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple decision makers. Manufacturing, automation, or industrial systems experience strongly preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and industrial automation solutions. Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to interact effectively with executive leadership, engineering teams, and operational stakeholders. Strong business development and consultative selling capabilities. Proven ability to influence decision-makers throughout complex sales cycles. Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills. Proficient with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Frequent use of a computer and standard office equipment. Ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory. Ability to attend customer sites, manufacturing facilities, trade shows, and industry events. Ability to sit, stand, walk, and communicate effectively for extended periods. Work Environment The work environment is primarily home-office based with frequent travel to customer locations, manufacturing facilities, trade shows, and company locations. Exposure to industrial manufacturing environments may occur during customer visits and project reviews.
