Community Development Regional Lead Location: Abidjan Company: Nestlé Research and Development Center, Abidjan Position Type: Full-time Minimum Educational qualification: Minimum University degree in agriculture, geography, human rights, International development or relevant experience. Minimum Relevant work experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in cocoa activities and at least 3 years in human rights or community development. Nestlé Research and Development Center , Abidjan, is currently looking for a Community Development Regional Lead to oversee Child labor monitoring & remediation system (CLMRS) key partnerships and KPIs, effectiveness, evolution and innovation in Côte d'Ivoire (CI), Cameroon (CM) and liaising with NCP manager for Ghana and Nigeria, collecting data for end of year reporting. To oversee Child labor monitoring & remediation system (CLMRS) and community development activities in Income Accelerator Programme (IAP). Youth and gender: Devise youth programme in NCP. Take the lead in ensuring NCP and IAP programmes are gender sensitive and evolving NCP according to Human rights priorities. Collective action and advocacy: Representing Nestlé on human rights forum in West Africa and relevant government relations, and translating any human rights agreements and regulations (CLCCG, EUDR) into actions. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: Gender sensitive: drive gender sensitive aspects of NCP and IAP. Income Accelerator. - Assist Income Accelerator Programme (IAP) manager on education and income diversification pillars, helping IAP achieve its Key performance indicators (KPIs). - Drive community development innovation and scaling e.g UBEES. Represent Nestlé on - Human rights forum in West Africa and potentailly globally. - Government relations where required. Planning and reporting: Make plans which cover the necessary visits in an efficient manner. After visit and/or monthly reporting and other as necessary. Devise Youth programme: budget, recipients, content. WHAT MAKES YOU SUCCESSFUL? Minimum University degree in agriculture, geography, human rights, International development or relevant experience. Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in cocoa activities and at least 3 years in human rights or community development. Hands on exposure to work/projects with farmers or in rural environment. Demonstrated competences for teamwork. Experience about dynamics of rural societies, their development, and raw material production systems. Basic experience in supplier development principles is desirable. Specialist must be highly competent in own area of expertise. Developed communicational skills for the interaction with farmers, suppliers and stakeholders. Ability to present ideas in a compelling manner. Good knowledge of Rainforest Alliance certification.
