About this role
Position Description: The Extended Day Program Site Coordinator is responsible to the Community Education Director for the ongoing success of his /her site's before and/or after-school child care program. This is a ten-month position. Schedule: M-F, School Year Regular School Days: 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm Early Release Days: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm Full-Day Programs; 6.5-hour shifts Site Coordinator Responsibilities:
• Incorporate the policies and mission of the Extended Day Program into the site's management.
• Responsible for the welfare, health, safety, and whereabouts of every child in the program.
• Build positive relationships with parents. Communicate with parents daily in order to better foster the growth and development of their children.
• Design and implement daily and Early Release Day program components/activities that lead to positive outcomes for the participating children.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the Extended Day Program, which include maintaining updated family information, student medical information, authorized student pick-up information, and keeping student attendance records and student drop-in attendance lists.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate Extended Day Program Coordinator and Student Assistants assigned to help with daily activities.
• Maintain a clean and orderly physical environment and use equipment and supplies conscientiously.
• Submit lesson plans and supply lists to the Director by the 25th of the month for the following month.
• Maintain a communication and information board for parents.
• Compose and email a monthly newsletter to parents.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with the school staff, including the principal, guidance counselors, classroom teachers, school secretaries, and custodial staff.
• Attend monthly Site Coordinator meetings.
• Complete 10 hours of Professional Development per year. (Community Education pays for PD and time spent.)
• Implement plans created for Vacation Programs and Professional Day Programs.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
• 5 hours of planning time per week devoted to curriculum development
