About this role
Primary Purpose: Under supervision of the principal provide reception and clerical assistance for the efficient operation of the campus office. Education / Certification:
• High School Diploma or GED.
Special Knowledge / Skills:
• Proficient keyboarding skills.
• Experience using Microsoft Office to include Word, and Excel.
• Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow written instructions.
• Ability to operate a multi-line phone system.
• Basic math skills.
Experience / Other Requirements:
• Three years of clerical / office experience, preferably in a public education environment.
Major Responsibilities and Duties: Reception and Phones
• Answer all incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
• Greet and direct campus visitors.
• Handle upset patrons/parents in a professional manner as needed.
• Assist parents in checking students in and out of school.
• Receive, sort, and distribute mail, messages, documents, and other deliveries.
• Assist with the receipt and distribution of student materials.
Other
• Assist with preparation of materials for mailing, including preparing labels, stuffing envelopes, etc.
• Prepare correspondence, forms, reports, information packets, etc. as needed.
• Maintain computerized files using personal computer, including reports, employee roster, and mailing lists.
• Performs routine bookkeeping tasks for the campus as needed.
• Assist with the scheduling of teacher conferences.
• Provide clerical assistance as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Responsible for properly maintaining district records, adhering to all policies set forth by the district for records maintenance ad learning the records retention schedule for department records.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Equipment Used: Personal computer, laser printers, calculator, copiers, fax.
