About this role

The Neshaminy School District is seeking to hire a Life Skills Support Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. This position is anticipated start in August of 2026 for the 2026-2027 school year. Salary and benefits are consistent with the NFT collective bargaining agreement, which can be found on the neshaminy.org website under Human Resources. Qualifications include a valid PA certification for K-12 special education. Applicants must be in good standing with Act 48 credits. Neshaminy School District requires a valid Child Abuse Clearance, FBI clearance, PA State Police Criminal Check, and completed Act 168 forms for all employees before they may begin work. The Life Skills Support Teacher provides specially designed instruction to sutdents with significant cognitive, developmental, communication, adaptive, and/or multiple disabilities who require intensive support ot access and make meaningful progress in their education program. Instruction is explicit, systematic, evidence-based, and tailored to each student's individual needs, which may include instruciton in foundational academic areas such as English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies, as well as in functional academics, communication, social and interpersonal skills, self-regulation, personal care, as appropriate, to each sutdent's needs. The teacher works collaboratively with families, general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, administrators, and other members of the IEP team to provide a coordinated educational proram that maintains high expectations, promotes meaningful inclusion, and develops each student's independence.
