OPENS: 08/10/2026 CLOSES: Until Filled JOB TITLE: Director of Compliance and Special Projects REPORTS TO: CFO DEPT. / SCHOOL: Administration / Bob Hope School / Central Office WAGE / HOUR STATUS: Exempt/Full Time Primary Purpose: To ensure district-wide compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to financial operations, grants, procurement, and governance. The Director will also lead and manage special projects that support strategic priorities, improve operational efficiency, and ensure best practices. Qualifications: Education/Certification:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred)

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in public school business operations, compliance, auditing, or project management

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Strong knowledge of compliance standards for school finance, procurement, and grants

• Familiarity with Texas public school accountability and financial reporting requirements

• Project management skills including budgeting, planning, and implementation

• Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or collaboratively

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Coordinates with insurance broker and insurance consultant to ensure the district insurance requirements are met.

• Completes applications and works with insurance broker to renew all school insurance annually

• Handles all property insurance claims including but not limited to coordination with insurance brokers and adjusters.

• In charge of coordination of all special projects, including requests for proposals, requests for qualifications and quote requests

• Oversees special projects, including but not limited to, construction and renovations projects and grant projects.

• Ensures all capital assets are tagged and tracked, including federal and state grant purchases

• Investigate and follow up on complaints or information related to potential compliance issues, and provide reports to school administration

• Ensures implementation and compliance for employee training requirements

• Work with CFO to develop and update federal and state compliance manuals

Compliance Oversight:

• Maintain documentation, policies, and procedures for audit readiness and risk mitigation

• Conduct periodic reviews and internal audits to assess compliance

Special Projects:

• Collaborate with district leadership to identify project goals, timelines, and success metrics

• Prepare reports and presentations for the board of trustees, superintendent, and executive team

Training and Communication:

• Provide compliance training and guidance to district staff on grant management, procurement processes, and new regulations

• Develop and distribute standard operating procedures (SOPs) and compliance updates

Data and Reporting:

• Work with the finance and grants teams to maintain accurate records for expenditures, reimbursements, and audit trails

Supervisory Responsibilities: May supervise compliance staff or project-specific teams as assigned. Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

• Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals

• Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

• Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching

• Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)

• Environment: Frequent districtwide travel; occasional statewide travel; occasional outside work with exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, noise, vibration, and chemical and electrical hazards

• Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
