About this role
Norris Middle School is seeking a Special Education Assistant to support students in both our CDC and inclusion classroom settings. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with special education and general education teachers to provide academic, behavioral, and instructional support to students throughout the school day. Responsibilities may include:
• Assisting students in CDC and general education classrooms
• Providing individual and small-group academic support
• Supporting accommodations and modifications as directed by the classroom teacher
• Assisting students with classroom routines, organization, and transitions
• Supporting positive student behavior and independence
• Collaborating with teachers and other staff to meet individual student needs
• Helping create a safe, supportive, and welcoming learning environment for all students
No prior experience is required. We are looking for someone who is dependable, patient, positive, and willing to learn. Training and support will be provided. If you enjoy working with students and want to make a meaningful difference in their school experience, we encourage you to apply.
