Reports to: Transportation Director Supervises: n/a Qualifications: Valid CDL with passenger and air brake endorsement. State of Oklahoma bus driving certificate. Yearly physician's statement certifying fitness for duty Job Goal: Provide safe and efficient transportation to allow students to access the district's curriculum and extracurricular programs. Regular Requirements: Sit for extended periods; climb bus steps; twist at the neck and trunk; bend at the waist; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl. Occasional Requirements: Reach with hands and arms overhead, above the shoulder, and horizontally. Lift/move up to 25 pounds. Visual Requirements: Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus. Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• 1. Operate district buses in a safe manner, including obeying all traffic laws and observing all mandatory school bus safety regulations.
• 2. Inspect the bus for mechanical defects prior to each operation and clean the bus after each operation.
• 3. Complete all required paperwork, including preventive maintenance trip worksheets.
• 4. Promptly report any accident and complete the required paperwork.
• 5. Follow the assigned schedule and routes. Only transport authorized students.
• 6. Notify the supervisor of mechanical failure, late arrival, or other difficulties.
• 7. Maintain order and discipline on buses (based on school policy) and promptly report any disciplinary problems to the transportation director.
• 8. Exercise professionalism during school trips.
• 9. Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, board policies, and procedures.
• 10. Utilize professional behavior in all school-related interactions.
• 11. Perform all other tasks as requested by the supervisor.
