Job Summary The Middle School Accompanist is a critical role responsible for providing exceptional musical accompaniment and support for the school's choral and show choir programs. This position requires a highly skilled pianist with a strong background in sight-reading, musicianship, and the ability to work collaboratively with the music director and students.  Key Responsibilities:
• Provide piano accompaniment for all show choir and back-up band rehearsals, competitions, and performances
• Accompany the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade choir rehearsals
• Create rehearsal tracks for students to practice with
• Assist with the organization and maintenance of the music library
• Potentially attend and accompany WIN time sectionals, depending on the new director's requirements
Qualifications:
• Proficient sight-reading and piano skills at a high level of musicianship
• Ability to respond to conducting cues and work effectively with the music director and students
• Experience in open and close vocal and instrumental scoring
• Strong listening skills and the ability to adapt to the ensemble's needs
Work Schedule The Middle School Accompanist can expect to work an average of 25 hours per week, including rehearsals, competitions, concerts, and any additional duties as assigned by the music director or administration.  Compensation The school recognizes the value of the accompanist's time and expertise, and will ensure fair compensation for all hours worked, including any time spent creating rehearsal tracks for students.
