About this role

Substitute Administrators are valued members of the Springfield Public Schools community who play an integral role in supporting the students and school communities of our District every day. Working as a Substitute Administrator with Springfield Public Schools requires a high level of flexiblity and adaptability, as Substitute Administrators sare eligible to work throughout the District in any school on an as-needed basis. Substitute Administrators provide instructional leadership for an Elementary, Middle or High School campus under the supervision of a Level Director while the regular full-time Administrator (Principal or Assistant Principal) is unavailable. As a Substitute Administrator you will take on the roles and responsibilities of the full-time Administrator you are covering for, including any evening school events and other duties the full-time Administrator would typically participate in. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

• Manage operational, technical, and school activities in the absence of the administrator;

• Ensure compliance with SPS procedures, policies and state and federal requirements;

• Supervise or delegate all school operations as appropriate, including daily school activities;

• Supervise and support professional educators in strengthening their instructional practices;

• Foster a culture of high expectation, providing every student with equitable access to high quality and culturally relevant instruction;

• Create a community of continuous learning for all staff and students;

• Promote a positive, safe and conducive climate for learning; create a welcoming environment that reflects and supports the racial and ethnic diversity of the student population and communities served; communicate effectively with students, staff and parents;

• Actively engage and advocate for historically underserved families of color, including those whose first language may not be English, as essential partners in their student's education, school planning and decision-making;

• Articulate the school's vision to the community and solicit its support in accomplishing the mission; use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS An active Oregon Administrator License issued from the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC). PAY RATE For applicants who were not previously employed as an Administrator with Springfield Public Schools the hourly rate of pay will be based on education and experience. For applicants who were previously employed as an Administrator with Springfield Public Schools the hourly rate of pay will be based on step and column placement at the time resignation/retirement with the District.
