JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: BUILDING ADMINISTRATOR SUBSTITUTE JOB GOAL: The Building Administrator Substitute will be responsible for assisting schools during a principal’s absence. This includes establishing positive relationships with teachers, support staff, families/guardians, and students; and, assisting in the overall daily operations of the school to maintain a positive and productive learning environment during the principal’s absence. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Principal certification preferred. 2. At least 5 years’ teaching experience. 3. Knowledgeable of district policies and procedures related to student and staff safety and well-being. 4. Flexible schedule REPORTS TO: The Assistant Superintendent PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Work with the school staff to maintain the daily operations of the school. 2. Remain present at the school for the entire day to provide supervision from arrival to dismissal. 3. Develop daily plans to address staffing coverage. 4. Support teachers and substitutes. 5. Supervise and/or monitor arrival, dismissal, lunch, and recess. 6. Serve as the point of contact to address questions or concerns from staff or families. 7. Inform the District Administration immediately in the event of a disciplinary issue or emergency. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Annual posting. Pay differential for administrative sub rate. Administrative sub rate is $500/day for external certified candidates. For current BWEA members, the sub rate will be their daily rate plus $250. Must participate in an orientation meeting with the District Administration. Renewal will be based on evaluation of performance of duties outlined in this job description.
