About this role
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To provide dispatching and clerical support duties for Transportation Department. QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to speak clearly and distinctly Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Ability to work cooperatively with others Ability to read maps and bus routes Knowledge of county streets and roads Ability to maintain routine records Previous experience as a driver and as a dispatcher preferred REPORTS TO: Transportation Coordinator PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Answers telephone inquiries and two-way radio as assigned.
• Sends and receives messages.
• Keeps all drivers updated on important information.
• Notifies schools of bus changes, delays, accidents, or problems.
• Reports operational problems and incidents to supervisor.
• Maintains easy access to bus rosters and routes.
• Performs related duties and responsibilities as requested by the Transportation Coordinator.
HOURS: 6:00 A.M.-8:30 A.M., and 2:30 P.M. to 4:30 P.M.
