POSITION: Department Chairperson— LOCATION: Jefferson High School, Washington High School ACCOUNTABLE TO: Building Principal QUALIFICATIONS: (1) Faculty member within the department at assigned school
• Valid West Virginia teacher certification in field
• Minimum of three years successful teaching experience required
• Minimum of one year West Virginia teaching experience preferred
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Chairpersons shall keep an inventory of textbooks and equipment used within the department and be responsible for replacement, repair, and ordering. © conduct monthly department meetings as needed to ensure the proper functioning of the department and support the school's strategic plan. These meetings include an agenda and minutes, which will be available for review. o assist other CTE teachers in determining the number of completers in each program. © facilitate the distribution and collection of information as needed including but notimited to ACT Workkeys data and completer placement data © provide representation to the leadership team. ®- assist the administrative team with the development of the master schedule. © serve as a member of the curriculum team which will work closely with the administrative team on instructional planning. o perform other duties as assigned by the principal and/ or CTE county coordinator. Chairpersons in these salaried positions are expected to fulfill these duties and responsibilities which may necessitate time spent beyond the traditional school day. No period will be given to perform chair person responsibilities during the instructional day.
