Student Connections Coach (school-based) REPORTS TO: School Principal JOB GOAL: The primary function of the school-based Student Connections Coach is to work with individual and groups of students to help them accomplish their academic goals. This is a grant-funded position from the Title I School Improvement Grant, continuation of the position beyond the 2026-2027 school year is dependent on funding availability. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Has a Bachelor's degree or higher
• Holds a valid Georgia certification at level four or higher, preferably in education, social work, counseling, or a related field
• Has at least three years of experience in education or a related field

• Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrates ability to attend to details and to efficiently multi-task
• Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs
• Demonstrates knowledge of Georgia Standards of Excellence
• Demonstrates knowledge of research-based instructional strategies
• Demonstrates ability to model and assist students in setting and meeting their academic goals
• Demonstrates knowledge of available instructional interventions and the ability to supervise and evaluate their effective implementation
• Demonstrates professional interpersonal skills with school staff, central office staff, parents/guardians, students, and community
• Demonstrates ability to work with limited supervision
• Demonstrates an excellent attendance record
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
• Provides mentoring and coaching for students in an effort to help them develop and accomplish their academic goals
• Meets with individual students and small groups of students to establish rapport and provide academic and behavioral support
• Refers students to appropriate internal and community-based academic programs and support services
• Collaborates with district and school departments to determine appropriate interventions and support for students
• Attends meetings and trainings to remain current in program offerings and educational trends and shares information with students
• Assists students with the development of success, retention, and completion resources and does presentations to support individual and groups of students
• Trains and coaches students regarding time management and goal setting
• Attends school activities and events to interact with students and families
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of students who are served
• Performs other grant-allowable duties as assigned by administrators
