About this role
Giles County will implement Tennessee's high-dosage, low-ratio tutoring model for targeted students in grades K-5. This model is based on proven best practices for accelerating students to grade level proficiency. Tutoring uses a learning acceleration approach to provide just-in time instruction, build background knowledge, front-load knowledge, and ensure students are successful at accessing Tier I instruction. Students participating in tutoring will be served in a 1:3 teacher:student ratio, two times each week during 30-45 minute sessions. Tutoring will occur during the school day and will focus on reading for the entire school year. Through this model, we will create high-impact learning experiences and drive strong outcomes for our students.
