Employment Type: Full-time
Entry Base Salary: $ 19.01 +$.45/hour lead differential
Calendar: 2612H FULL TIME (12 MONTH) 248 work days, 13 paid holidays if full-time employee

Performance Pay: Available annually
New Hire Experience: 1% for two or more years of full time like experience and an additional 1% per year not to exceed the maximum hiring range of 5%.
New Hire Education: 1% of hourly rate for a college degree in a similar field, combined with work experience credit not to exceed the maximum hiring range of 5%.
CHANDLER UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT JOB DESCRIPTION CLASSIFICATION: SUPPORT STAFF JOB TITLE: CUSTODIAN CALENDAR: 2385PT PART-TIME OR 2612H FULL TIME (12 MONTH) SALARY: GRADE 109 (SUPPORT HOURLY), PLUS ADDITIONAL .45/HOUR LEAD DIFFERENTIAL SHIFT: 5 AM - 1:30 PM Job Goal: Maintain a safe, clean, and attractive physical plant. Minimum Qualifications:
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and write English as pertains to job functions
• Progressively responsible custodial experience
• Satisfactory criminal background check
• Vision and hearing are adequate to exercise job responsibilities in a safe manner
Core Job Functions:
• Perform all duties relating to cleaning the school site
• Direct and monitor the work of custodians and provide training on an ongoing basis
• Order custodial supplies
• Provide input to the principal for custodian evaluations
• Accurately maintains and cleans custodial equipment
• Cleans assigned areas to prescribed standards and requirements
• Sweep, dust, vacuum, scrub, wax, and polish floors
• Wash windows, walls, woodwork, and equipment
• Empty trash receptacles
• Perform minor repairs
• Move furniture and equipment based on the needs of the facility
• Replace light bulbs and perform minor maintenance
• Be flexible and perform other duties relating to the general job function as assigned by the supervisor
• Monitor and maintain the readiness of all building security, safety systems, equipment, and fire extinguishers
• Follow up on sanitation report deviations
• Report safety/security hazards and needs for major repairs in an expeditious manner
• Secures the facility, ensuring the building is locked/unlocked as required
• Handle emergency custodial duties for principals, teachers, and staff
• Follow district policies as outlined
• Perform all duties safely and prudently as directed by supervisors

Physical Requirements - Heavy Work
• Required physical actions include stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, sitting, finger or manual dexterity, repetitive finger motion, speaking, hearing, seeing (with correction), and focusing ability.
• Mobility and lifting require employees to stand and walk constantly on various floor surfaces. They must be able to use a push/pull force of up to 50 pounds for machines and lift items of up to 30 pounds. Items over 50 pounds require a second staff member to assist.
• Occasional tasks may require an employee to climb ladders for cleaning or maintenance.
• Environmental exposures may include travel, fumes, odors, chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, workspace restrictions, and loud noises.
