Location: Clallam Bay School Salary: $24.57 per hour - 4 hours per day 192 days per year Date of Employment: September 2, 2026 Closing Date: Open Until Filled This position is represented by Union Membership Full school year positions are based on 182 work days plus paid holidays and pay is divided over twelve months. Employees hired after the school year begins will be paid based on the number of days to be worked and divided by the number of months left in the fiscal year. Qualifications: 1. High School Diploma or equivalent 2. Current Food Handler's Permit 3. Have or can obtain clearances from Washington State Patrol/FBI background check Knowledge and Abilities:
• Experience in large quantity food preparations
• Knowledge of operation and care of all kitchen equipment, health rules and safety
• Proficient in math and reading ability so as to change menus for proportioned quantities
• Computer skills to place orders, access information and communicate by email.
• Ability to relate well with food service workers and other school personnel and set a proper example of neatness and a tidy appearance.

Essential Job Functions:
• Assist Cook I in preparing and serving breakfast and lunch to students.
• Assist in handling food supplies and materials
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness of kitchen.
• Assume the duties of Cook 1 as a result of training by Cook 1
• Assist in maintaining food serving records and monthly food inventories for USDA commodities and regularly purchased foods.
• Assist in opening and closing the kitchen at the beginning and end of the school year.
• Report maintenance, health, or safety problems to Cook 1 or building administrator.
• Attend state workshops/trainings as required.
• Maintain a positive attitude, good work ethic, and demonstrate promptness in work arrival and in accomplishing all tasks. Work assigned hours and maintain an ongoing physical presence at assigned work station.
• Perform other necessary and reasonable duties as assigned.
