General Definition of Work The long-term substitute teacher, under limited supervision, performs instructional work with limited decision-making discretion serving as a temporary educator who is responsible for operating a safe, orderly and positive classroom environment while the regular classroom teacher position is anticipated to be vacant for 6 or more months.
