About this role
The EC Instructional Assistant will provide direct instructional and behavioral support primarily within the Occupational Course of Study (OCS) program to assist students in achieving their academic, employment, and transition goals. Responsibilities include supporting classroom instruction, reinforcing skills, assisting with community-based and vocational activities, monitoring student progress, and implementing accommodations and modifications as directed by the EC teacher. The instructional assistant must be technologically proficient, as a significant portion of the position will involve assisting and supporting students with online instruction, digital learning platforms, and educational technology programs. The ideal candidate will be comfortable troubleshooting basic technology issues and helping students navigate virtual and computer-based learning environments. While the primary assignment will be within the OCS program, the instructional assistant may also be assigned to support other Exceptional Children (EC) classrooms and programs based on student and school needs. During the remainder of the school day, the instructional assistant may assist with additional duties as assigned, including academic support, supervision, intervention services, clerical tasks, or other school-related responsibilities. Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate degree or a minimum of 48 semester hours of college coursework.
• Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.
• Strong technology skills and the ability to support students in online learning environments.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, students, and families.
The candidate will also be responsible for managing after-school detention, and other miscellaneous tasks throughout the day.
