About this role

Student Council Advisor Needed Location: Champlain Valley Union High School Internal posting - Champlain Valley Union High School & district-wide only. This position will remain open until filled. However, applications received within the first seven days of posting will receive priority consideration. Champlain Valley Union High School (CVU) is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated professional to lead our Student Council for the 2026-27 season. We are looking for an individual who can help foster student leadership, civic responsibility, and school engagement, while ensuring that student council activities align with school goals and policies. Primary Responsibilities

• Advise and mentor student council officers on leadership, decision making, and goal setting for the school year.

• Assist in planning, organizing, and supervising student council events such as spirit days, fundraisers, community service activities, and ensuring compliance with school and district policies.

• Serve as a bridge between students, faculty, and administration, facilitating effective communication and keeping school leadership informed of council activities.

• Monitor student council budgets, and ensure proper handling of funds according to school and district policies.

• Organize and supervise regular student council meetings, help develop agendas with student officers, and guide students in effective decision making.

• Act as a neutral party to resolve disputes within the student council and provide guidance to maintain a positive and productive environment.

• Strong mentoring and leadership skills to guide student officers.

• Ability to help organize and supervise events effectively.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to be a liaison between students, staff, and parents.

• Commitment to student safety, inclusivity, and school spirit.
