Locations: McAllen High School -2 Positions Memorial High School - 2 Positions Nikki Rowe High School - 2 Positions PRIMARY PURPOSE: Hired applicant is responsible for coaching a school UIL sport offered by the McAllen ISD Fine Arts Department: Band QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED Associate's Degree or a minimum of 48 college hours, required - $10.25/hour or Bachelor's Degree & Texas Teaching Certificate with required endorsements for subject/level assigned or other permits as approved by state - $23.00/hour Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to work cooperatively with student athletes, coaching staff, teachers, administration and parents; must fulfill all UIL requirements for coaches-Rules Compliance Program, Professional Acknowledgement Form, First Aid and CPR certified, must attend a UIL Orientation Session, must attend Concussion Training as scheduled; knowledge of fitness and sports activities; and ability to speak, read, write and follow written and oral instructions Communicate effectively (verbal and written); utilize effective interpersonal skills; demonstrate knowledge of subjects assigned; exhibit general knowledge of curriculum and instruction; basic computer skills, preferred Experience: Previous experience working with student athletes in sports and recreational activities preferred As per UIL Section 1202 (a)(3) (Employment of coaches) - Retired Teacher/Administrator with 20 or more years of experience. Working Days: 226 / Up to 19 hrs per week
