POSITION: Advisor- Student Council LOCATION: TMS REPORTS TO: TMS Principal and/or designee SCHOOL YEAR: 2026-2027 QUALIFICATIONS:
• Should have a work schedule which will enable him/her to meet the advisory obligations without interference with his/her regular working schedule and will fit in with the advisory program at middle school.
• Previous advisory experience desired.
• Present employment at Thompson Middle School is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities listed below as evidenced by previous experience and the interview process.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Organizes and schedules student activities for all grades at Thompson Middle School such as the eighth-grade end of year activities including but not limited to the semi-formal dance and/or an 8th grade trip, etc. to coordinate with the school calendar, as well as district calendar and submits those dates to the front office clerk to input into the school calendar.
• Oversees planning of financial student activities with the school secretary and the principal for authorization and budget expenditures and profits.
• Communicates student council activities to the student body, parents, teachers, and staff.
• Oversee the daily operations of the school store, such as who will be manning the daily operations, inventory, etc.,
• Ensures that students are transported according to school policy.
• Perform any other duties stipulated by the Principal of Thompson Middle School.
