Substitute Intervention Specialist Position: Grade 6/7 November2026 -January 2027 The Substitute Intervention Specialist will design and implement individualized instruction for children with disabilities. Intervention Specialists will utilize Struthers City Schools K-12 Continuum of Service model, and will embrace an inclusion-based co-teaching framework of collaboration to support students. Duties 1) Assesses children's individual needs and collects data as evidence of growth or need for adjustment collaborating with all IEP team members when designing individualized programs. 2) Collaborates with teachers and other parties to ensure student needs are met in the areas of academic instruction and social-emotional needs. 3) Ensures students are supervised and safe in classrooms and other settings at all times. 4) Employs suitable classroom management techniques, and individualized behavior plans that promote positive behavior. 5) Keeps evidence of specially designed instruction, IEP goals, and intervention data.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in special education and a valid Intervention Specialist License from the Ohio Department of Education in the area/grade level of instructional support being provided.
