The Role
This is a varied role encompassing paralegal duties supporting our Matrimonial/Family legal team, reporting to Hazel McNaught, our Legal Director and Head of Matrimonial/Family.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting fee earners in client meetingsDrafting legal documentationPreparing legal documents, letters and emailsUploading applications and documents to courtDealing with clients on the phone and in writingAttendance at court hearingsResearch on all areas of family law including expert casesAudio typing of standard letters, court documents and telephone file notesCollating bundles of instructions to counsel and collating trial bundlesRaising bills and chasing paymentUpdating databases and directoriesEnsuring files are kept tidy and filing is up-to-dateOpening new files as instructedClosing and archiving files on matter completionProviding assistance to clients and external solicitors with informationIdentifying the urgency of phone calls and escalating appropriatelyPreparing standard documentation under supervision and using own initiativeOther ad hoc duties as required This is a flexible role and you may be required to carry out other work within your abilities as requested. We reserve the right to introduce changes in line with technological developments which may impact upon your job duties or methods of working.
