About this role
Trusting Social is an AI Fintech pioneer that's revolutionizing credit access in emerging markets. Our mission is "Advancing AI to Meet the Financial Needs of Everyday Consumers with Empathy." We've assessed over 1 billion consumers across four countries, and we're on a mission to provide 100 million credit lines using the power of AI and Big Data. How You'll Make an Impact At Trusting Social, the People & Culture function is not an administrative back-office — it is a core innovation engine. As People & Culture Lead/Manager based in Hanoi, you own the local workplace experience end-to-end while serving as the primary connector between our Hanoi team and the broader organization across all locations. You will partner directly with leadership and work alongside cross-functional teams to design, drive, and sustain the cultural fabric that allows high-performing, highly diverse teams to do their best work together. This role is built for someone who sees the status quo as a starting point, not a ceiling — someone who challenges inherited HR norms, experiments with modern tools and AI-driven approaches, and dares to rethink what great employee experience can actually look like in a fast-growing technology company. You listen before you act, move with intentionality, and build trust with people at every level — not through authority, but through genuine presence and considered judgment. What You'll Do Culture & Workplace Experience Own the end-to-end workplace culture for the Hanoi office — shaping an environment where people feel trusted, supported, and motivated to perform at their best. Design and drive initiatives that reinforce a strong, transparent, and humane culture grounded in shared values rather than top-down mandates. Build measurable rituals and programs that give people a real sense of belonging and pride in the company they are part of. Cross-Location Connectivity Act as the primary bridge between the Hanoi team and the wider organization — driving internal communications, shared rituals, and engagement programs that strengthen unity, cross-functional collaboration, and a shared company identity. Synthesize engagement signals and participation patterns into clear, actionable insights that leadership can act on — building from data, not assumption. Modern People Practices & AI Integration Actively experiment with and adopt HR tech, digital tools, and AI applications to innovate engagement strategies and elevate the overall employee journey. Evaluate and maintain People tools and programs — monitoring quality and effectiveness, catching drift early, and iterating before issues compound. Challenge how things have always been done: if a process can be redesigned with AI or modern tooling to create a better human experience, lead that change. Leadership Support & Team Dynamics Partner closely with leaders to foster strong leadership practices, navigate complex people situations, resolve workplace friction, and support team cohesion. Own difficult conversations with maturity — making judgment calls without waiting for central approval and taking full accountability for outcomes, not just tasks. Act on early signals: be aware of downstream impact on individuals and team dynamics before friction becomes an issue. Employee Engagement & Onboarding Design meaningful touchpoints across the full employee lifecycle — from onboarding to continuous recognition — that build genuine belonging and community across locations. Own engagement outcomes end-to-end: measure impact, read the evidence, and iterate with the same rigor applied to any product or business initiative. What We're Looking For Experience & Background Extensive experience (10+ years) in People, Culture, Employee Engagement, or Internal Communications roles within modern, dynamic organizations. Proven track record of owning People initiatives end-to-end in environments where autonomy, ambiguity, and speed are the norm. Background in startup, tech, or high-growth environments is a strong plus. How You Work You use AI tools actively — crafting clear prompts, evaluating outputs critically, and applying AI to expand what you can personally accomplish across people and engagement work. You initiate without being asked: when you identify friction in the employee experience or an opportunity to raise the bar, you build a proposal and move — not wait for direction. You connect knowledge across domains — drawing on communication, behavioral science, technology, and organizational design to build People programs that work across diverse teams and contexts. You invest in your own growth as a continuous practice: you follow emerging People and HR tech trends, test new tools, and bring what you learn back into the work. You listen before acting and communicate with intention — aware that how something lands matters as much as what you meant to say. You have a genuine global mindset: you connect comfortably with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and navigate international team dynamics with ease. Skills & Competencies Business Owner — Holds full accountability for People initiatives and engagement outcomes; makes calls without waiting for central sign-off and owns results, not just tasks. Domain Expert — Builds People practices that are documented, teachable, and resilient; coaches managers and leaders on culture and engagement; covers edge cases before they surface. Relationship Manager — Builds lasting trust with people at every level of the organization; measurably improves team cohesion, retention, and the quality of cross-functional relationships. AI Operator — Actively monitors People programs and engagement signals for quality and drift; knows when an initiative is working, when it is not, and iterates before problems compound. Exceptional emotional intelligence: builds trust, navigates sensitive situations, and makes people feel genuinely heard across diverse personalities and cultural backgrounds. Strong English communication skills (spoken and written — professional fluency required). High adaptability and comfort operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
