Job SummaryNEH is a federal agency that supports the humanities in every state and U.S. jurisdiction. Since 1965, NEH has awarded over $6 billion to support museums, historic sites, universities, teachers, libraries, documentary filmmakers, public TV and radio stations, research institutions, scholars, and local humanities programming.

QualificationsTo qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. At the GS- 13 level Qualified candidates must possess:1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level or equivalent experience. Specialized experience is experience performing senior level work in project leadership, donor and partner engagement, high visibility event coordination, strategic analysis, and stakeholder communication. Experience must include independently managing complex, multi stakeholder initiatives; preparing executive level briefings and communications; coordinating national level or agency wide projects; and supporting or coordinating humanities related grants or nationally funded humanities projects including collaborating with grant supported partners and ensuring activities aligned with grant requirements and agency mission priorities

Major DutiesLead and coordinate cross-agency special projects and strategic initiatives that support NEH mission priorities. Support donor and partner engagement by preparing briefings, correspondence, outreach materials, and tracking engagement activities. Plan and manage high-visibility NEH events, ensuring effective logistics, vendor coordination, and preparation of scripts and talking points. Conduct research and strategic analysis to develop executive summaries, policy options, briefing materials, and recommendations for leadership. Draft high-level communications and serve as a liaison across NEH offices, federal partners, cultural institutions, and philanthropic organizations. Manage project timelines, documentation, deadlines, and confidential materials, providing coordination and continuity for leadership needs.
