Major DutiesTour of Duty: 6:00 p.m. - 2:30 a.m. Monday - Friday (hours many change due to operating needs of management). Note: This position is emergency essential; depending on the type of emergency, the employee may be required to report to work during emergency situations. The position serves as the Laborer (Recycler) Supervisor and is responsible in the assigned unit for assigning, directing and reviewing the work of subordinates and evaluating their work performance; planning, scheduling and coordinating work operations; and solving problems related to the work performed by the Night Labor and Recycling Unit of the HOB to which assigned. Duties include, but are not limited to: Perform administrative and technical supervisory functions for subordinates. Assign duties and evaluate performance. Manage the organizational unit's budget and workload. Develop performance requirements for subordinates and ensure a mutual understanding of the performance standards. Resolve complaints and grievances. Provide leadership to ensure support for equal employment opportunity (EEO) goals and requirements. Check work in progress and when finished, checks for compliance with instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods and deadlines. Demonstrate proper work methods and answer workers' questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions and other directives. Provide waste management guidance and answer questions concerning waste management.
