Job SummaryYou will serve as a ARCHAEOLOGIST in the Environmental Compliance and Protection Department of MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII.

QualificationsIn addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialised experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing guidance for the preservation and management of cultural, archaeological and architectural resources, reviewing planning, design and construction documents for military construction, and routine maintenance and repair projects, and performing field investigations and studies. Major DutiesYou will develop, maintain and execute the MCBH Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan (ICRMP) which affects the policies for the preservation and protection of archaeological and architectural resourcesYou will develop, implement and oversee site surveys for the location and inventory of archaeological an architectural resources.You will guide and coordinate base and tenant activity efforts to take cultural considerations into account in the siting, maintenance, repair and/or new construction/operation of all Base and tenant projects.You will ensure all MCBH Personnel comply with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act.You will recommend modifications to undertakings, and/or drafts mitigating stipulations, to reduce or eliminate impacts to federally protected resources.You will prepare cultural resources components of environmental assessments (EA) and environmental impact statements (EIS).You will prepare scopes of work (SOW) and monitor contracts for archaeological technical services, archaeological and architectural resources inventories, surveys, evaluations, curation, and data collections.
