Job SummaryAbout the Position: Positions are with Evans Army Community Hospital, Directorate of Surgery, Department of Surgery Otorhinolaryngology Service, Fort Carson, CO. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.

QualificationsWho May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement: Health Technician (Otolaryngology) Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes demonstrated experience performing or assisting with patient examination of the ears, nose and throat; obtaining patient information, such as, temperature, blood pressure, etc.; AND scheduling patient appointments within an automated system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Major DutiesPerform diagnostic and treatment support procedures for the medical care of patients with injuries, disorders and diseases of the ear, nose and throat.Provide customer service by responding to or forwarding calls and/or injuries in a timely manner.Assist in pre-operative care of patients.Use automated systems to register and schedule patient appointments.
