Job SummaryYou will serve as a AIRCRAFT EXAMINER (PROGRESSMAN) in the PROD LINES DIVISION, MRO PRODCTION DEPARTMENT of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

QualificationsAlthough a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO INSPECT 1) Diagnosing and determining remedy using a variety of instruments; 2) Finding major leak in piping, or cold vacuum tube, or missing machine part, etc.; 3) Inspection and trial runs of mechanical equipment, or simple test of electrical equipment, etc. where damage is likely if trouble is not located; and 4) Locating trouble through knowledge of complex relationships of parts of a mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic system. Major DutiesYou will perform examination/evaluation and repair of aircraft integrated systems and major subsystems, subassemblies, and structural components.You will identify and record tasks and discrepancies on aircraft systems, components, accessories, which are suitable for continued service without replacement, repair or processing.You will collect and provide data for logistic analysis, budgets, formulation of material forecasts and workload planning.You will operate ground support equipment such as air compressors, generators, and gas turbine air starters in support of making various aircrafts ready for flight.You will de-preserve and pre-oil engines and other systems.
