Job SummaryThis is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
QualificationsWho May Apply: US Citizens Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an ELECTRICAL WORKER ~ without more than normal supervision. 1) Installing and testing a variety of electrical lines and circuits to components and/or devices; AND 2) Disassembling, repairing, troubleshooting and/or replacing wire mold, wires and electrical components and devices. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL EFFORT Work involves frequent standing, stooping, climbing, bending, and kneeling; and occasionally works in cramped and awkward positions. Required to lift and handle objects weighting up to 20 pounds; often lifts and moves heavier objects with the assistance of other workers, lifting devices, and aids such as movable tables or jacks; required to use ladders in the performance of duties. WORKING CONDITIONS Work is usually performed inside well lighted, adequately heated and ventilated areas. Occasionally works outside in inclement weather. Subject to cuts, bruises, scrapes, sprains and strains from handling tools and installing equipment. Subject to burns from hot components, soldering, and electrical shock. Required to wear safety clothing and equipment appropriate for the position.
Major DutiesInstall and test a variety of electrical lines and circuits to components and devices.Disassemble, repair, troubleshoot and/or replace wire mold, wires and electrical components and devices.Make operational test and adjustments as necessary.Perform testing on electrical wiring by utilizing tools such as test lamps, voltage testers, ammeters, etc.
