Job SummaryYou will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIRE PROTECTION INSPECTOR in the FEDERAL FIRE DEPARTMENT FIRE PREVENTION BRANCH of NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY MONTEREY.

QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing training for all areas of Fire and Emergency Services (i.e. structural firefighting, shipboard firefighting, aircraft firefighting, wildland firefighting, hazardous materials, and emergency medical care); 2) Conducting inspections to ensure training objectives are being accomplished; 3) Ensuring safety guidelines are being implemented across all fire stations; 4) Identifying safety deficiencies and/or recommending corrective action; and 5) Performing supervisory duties such as managing, organizing, directing, providing technical leadership and guidance, assigning and prioritizing work, position management, evaluating work performance of subordinates and resolving disciplinary issues. Major DutiesYou will administer training, orientation, indoctrination, and education programs for fire safety and awareness.You will evaluate firefighter training (e.g., practical evolutions, live fire training) for improvement.You will direct the physical inspection of facilities to detect or reduce potential fire hazards.You will brief fire investigation findings to senior leaders.
