QualificationsTo be hired at the GS-7 entry grade level, applicants must minimally have: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-06) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience utilizing a large body of military payroll policies and procedures to process military payroll transactions such as pay audits, corrections, adjustments, processing final actions to resolve payroll issues and determining complex payroll entitlements. You may qualify for consideration if meeting specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Major DutiesPosition independently resolves difficult and complicated retired pay actions.Pay actions involve the comprehensive audit of pay accounts, correction, and adjustment of several items of pay.The incumbent resolves questions of entitlement to additional retired pay compensation.Corrects and adjusts retired pay due to retroactive legislative adjustments which affect benefits due from other agencies.Determines applicability of payments, and initiates collection of overpayments as necessary.
