Job SummaryThis job opportunity is for an MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR, position description D0843000, within the 177th LRS of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position. Its purpose is to operate and perform operator maintenance on one or more motor vehicles to transport personnel, supplies, materials or equipment.

QualificationsGeneral Experience: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to follow instructions and safely operate the type of equipment required to accomplish the duties of the position. Specialized Experience: Must have at least 12 months of specialized experience or training which demonstrates the following: Ability to operate one or more motor vehicles Operate platform, van, stake, and dump trucks Refueling vehicles passenger buses or ambulance buses Operate all wheeled vehicles and tractors which typically have an approximate gross vehicle weight of more than 11,700 kilograms (26,000 pounds) and up to 14,400 kilograms (less than 32,000 pounds)

Major DutiesAs an MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR, WG-5703-8, you will: Operate and perform operator maintenance Assures cargo is properly loaded, distributed, and secured Transport personnel, supplies, materials or equipment Perform warehouse work to include issuing receiving and inventorying equipment Complete log books, maintenance records, reports, and other transportation documents for accuracyRequirementsAreas of Consideration: Area III Title 32 Only, Members of the New Jersey National Guard.Military Grades: E-3 to E-9Additional Requirements: Participation in direct deposit is mandatory May be required to successfully complete a probationary period Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service You may be required to successfully complete a 1- or 2- year probation/trial period to assess performance, conduct, agency needs, public interest, and efficiency. Employment ends unless certified in writing that it advances the agencies interest. Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Military Grade: Min: E-3 and Max: E-6 Applicant(s) (Enlisted) who are over grade must clearly state, in their resumes, their intentions to willingly take a reduction in grade Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Compatible Military Assignments Appointments may require the selected candidate to be assigned to a *military unit* compatible with the full-time Military Technician (Dual Status) position. *Military Unit* -- The unit by which the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee; or a unit that the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee to support.
