Job SummaryThis position is located at Office of the Inspector General for Tax Admin, Office of Audit. As a Performance Audit Manager, you will be responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and executing complex audits, inspections, and evaluations through subordinate professional and administrative staff. The incumbent reports to the Director, Audit or Director, Office of Inspections and Evaluations, and exercises delegated supervisory and technical authority over assigned employees.
QualificationsYou must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: - Planning, organizing and conducting audits and evaluations of major programs in accordance with regulatory requirements and professional or quality standards; OR - Experience working in a tax administration organization gathering and evaluating audit data and justifying findings; AND - Preparing draft or final written reports containing recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations to senior management. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

As a Performance Audit Manager, you will: - Conduct meetings to communicate operational priorities, program information, and significant issues to subordinate staff and management officials. - Coordinate and monitor activities either directly or through Lead Auditors/Evaluators to ensure work objectives are accomplished efficiently and effectively with emphasis on quality and timeliness. - Manage subordinate employees in the planning and execution of audits, inspections, and evaluations. Provide leadership and technical oversight to ensure assignments are completed in accordance with Government Auditing Standards, TIGTA policies and procedures, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements. - Participate in recruitment, interviewing, selection, promotion, reassignment, and recognition activities. Ensure employee skills and competencies align with assignment requirements.RequirementsThe experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
