Manages the day to day operation of the microbiology department to insure smooth flow of samples and testingOversees the scheduling of microbiology staff to insure production schedules are metCounsels microbiology staff with regard to problems encountered in daily operationsOversees the checking and transfer of microbiology data as necessary and takes steps to correct possibly inaccurate data prior to continued processing or releaseOversees the orientation of new microbiology staff to their responsibilities and the function of the microbiology departmentWorks with Quality Assurance to resolve client complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendation to managementIdentifies process improvements to better meet client expectations and company objectives.Recommends new equipment for the microbiology department.Compiles statisticsOversees the monitoring of inventory/ordering by establishing and maintaining par levels and restocking points for microbiology supplies and reagentsServes as a liaison for the department to outside vendorsAssists the laboratory manager in the development of a budget and monitors microbiology expendituresPerforms duties in compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting agenciesSupports Eurofins DPT’ business philosophy, leadership values and ethicsIn order to meet Eurofins DPT’s quality policy and objectives, all employees are expected to meet basic expectations of Eurofins’s quality management system including, but not limited to good workmanship, adherence to standard operational procedures, training, good documentation practices, and accurate recordkeeping. MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science degree requiredWORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, and techniques used in microbiologic testingConsiderable knowledge of the use of microbiological apparatus and equipmentAbility to organize, communicate, teach, and work with others in an effective mannerAbility to manage and schedule the work of othersKnowledge of federal, state and local standards, regulations, guidelines and requirements effecting operations of a clinical reference laboratoryAnalytical thinking and communication skills What we offer:
