About this role
The Laboratory Assistant is primarily responsible for performing duties related to accessioning, specimen
management, problem resolution, and data entry and specimen storage with a high degree of
proficiency.
Primary responsibilities include:
Receive incoming shipments and document appropriatelyAnswer the phones from clients and customers and aiding to callers when necessaryExamine samples for accuracy and other requirements (sample type, volume, etc.)Contact client to resolve sample and/or testing related issues or discrepanciesComplete correction requests as neededOperation of the front end processing automation equipment as assigned by managementAccession samples and deliver them to proper area(s)Sample Aliquot/preparation for testingInstrument set up and preparation for testingPerform Temperature log, instrument maintenance and recordingRetrieve and re-file samples for testingProperly store specimens for short term and long term storageAid laboratory personnel in cleaning dutiesMaintain quality control and quality assurance records as requiredAdhere to all quality and safety standards, as well as ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory agenciesAdhere to policies and protocols in the laboratoryWork closely and communicate with other lab associates to complete daily activities efficientlyOther duties as assigned by management MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent requiredWORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
2 years of clinical laboratory experience preferredMust be comfortable with raw specimen handlingAbility to read, interpret, and comply with documents such as internal SOPs, operating and maintenance instructions, and company policiesIntermediate level of proficiency with PC based software programs, with database skills and 1 year data entry experience preferred What we offer:
