For a large-scale industrial project in the Port of Antwerp , we are looking for an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Inspector . You will join an international project environment within the petrochemical industry, where English is the main working language . Your focus will be on ensuring that all electrical and instrumentation works are executed safely, correctly and in accordance with project specifications, applicable standards and approved documentation. Your role As an E&I Inspector, you will be closely involved in the construction, installation and pre-commissioning phases of the project. You will spend a significant amount of time in the field, following up contractors and verifying the quality and compliance of the E&I installations. Your responsibilities will include: Inspecting electrical and instrumentation installations during construction and completion Verifying installations against approved drawings, specifications, datasheets and relevant standards Checking cable routing, cable trays, cable pulling and termination Inspecting junction boxes, field instruments, panels, switchgear and other E&I equipment Checking instrument installation, impulse tubing and associated hook-ups Verifying grounding, bonding and earthing installations Performing and witnessing electrical and instrumentation tests Following up loop checks, continuity tests, insulation resistance tests and functional testing Verifying installations in hazardous areas and checking compliance with ATEX requirements Reviewing inspection and test records, punch lists and construction documentation Identifying non-conformities and following up corrective actions with contractors Supporting mechanical completion and pre-commissioning activities Coordinating closely with construction, engineering, QA/QC and commissioning teams A technical degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation or a related discipline Several years of experience as an E&I Inspector, QA/QC Inspector or E&I Supervisor in an industrial environment Experience within petrochemical, chemical, oil & gas or other process industries Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation installation practices Experience with ATEX / hazardous area installations Familiarity with relevant IEC standards and industrial E&I practices Experience with inspection procedures, ITPs, punch listing and quality documentation The ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, hook-ups, P&IDs and technical datasheets A strong focus on safety, quality and technical compliance Good communication skills and the confidence to address contractors when installations do not meet the required standards A professional working proficiency in English
