About the Role
We at Innovaccer are looking for an Integration Engineer who will apply their knowledge and experience of X12 transactions as they are used in US healthcare, to help in building X12 capabilities and to deploy integrations between our customers and a variety of external systems. You will collaborate closely with product team members and software developers to help Innovaccer develop and deploy X12 integration capabilities for our healthcare solutions. You will work with customer staff, EHR vendors, payers, and other stakeholders to deploy these capabilities for customers, in coordination with Innovaccer’s product and customer success teams. You’ll apply learnings from these projects to improved documentation and, where feasible, proposals for automation of implementation steps. You’ll also serve as a resource for questions on X12 integration capabilities, timelines, and processes during the sales cycle.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to have structured problem-solving skills, strong analytical abilities, willingness to take initiatives and drive them, excellent verbal and written communication skills and high levels of empathy towards internal and external stakeholders, among other things.
A Day in the Life
Provide expertise in the X12 standard transactions for healthcare, throughout the design and development processAssist software developers by taking on coding projects whose scope is aligned to your X12 expertiseDeploy integration capabilities for Innovaccer customers, in coordination with customer staff, internal teams, and third party system representativesIdentify process improvements and take ownership of implementing them through documentation updates and other team educationProvide input to ongoing interoperability, and other Innovaccer solution, product developmentBuild relationships with customer counterparts and with staff from key external vendors
What You Need
Bachelor’s degree or higher5+ years of relevant work experience in technical implementation of healthcare interfaces, with at least 3 years focused specifically on ANSI X12 transactions for healthcare Detailed knowledge of the ANSI X12 transaction standards used in the US healthcare system, including 270/271, 278, 837, 835, and/or 276/277, with specific experience with 278 strongly preferred Proven customer service skills including the ability to communicate complex technical requirements to a non-technical audienceProven ability to work within a team to deliver system integrations on time, within the context of a larger projectDemonstrated technical writing skills, and experience documenting interface deployment and configuration processes
Nice to Have:
Experience speaking to prospects in a sales situationExperience deploying integrations using the Rhapsody interface engineKnowledge of HL7 FHIR, non-FHIR RESTful APIs, and/or HL7 v2
