Job Description: Job Summary We are transforming Finance at MPS. We are looking for candidates who can help us build the future. We are investing in the systems, data, and automation that will allow us to scale the business. We are looking to grow our team with true builders that have an entrepreneurial mindset. This role will be part of the foundation team that is designing, building, and implementing systems and automated workflows across Finance. At MPS systems and automation are not separate from the business, so this role will play a critical part in supporting FP&A activities through the lens of enabling speed and efficiency. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, comfortable operating with ambiguity, and energized by building things that don't yet exist.
Key Responsibilities Systems & Automation (Primary Focus)
• Design, build, and scale automated workflows and system integrations that reduce manual effort across Finance processes (close, reporting, forecasting, reconciliations).
• Own the roadmap for automation opportunities. Identify high-friction manual processes, prototype solutions, and drive them to production.
• Build and maintain ETL pipelines, dashboards, and analytics infrastructure from ingestion through analysis.
• Serve as a Center of Excellence for Finance's core systems (e.g., Databricks, Power BI, ERP/IFS Cloud), providing technical guidance and troubleshooting support to the broader team.
• Evaluate and pilot emerging tools, including AI/LLM-based workflows, to further automate and scale Finance operations.
• Maintain system and process documentation and ensure data governance standards are followed.
FP&A Support (Secondary Focus, Systems-Oriented)
• Support monthly close and management reporting by building and automating the underlying reporting infrastructure, not by performing manual variance analysis.
• Partner with FP&A and Accounting to translate recurring, manual analytical work into repeatable, self-service systems and tools.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Accounting, IT, business units) to gather requirements and ensure systems solutions meet FP&A's needs.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or other quantitative fields.
• 3–5 years of experience in a role combining data/systems work with finance or accounting exposure.
• A builder mindset demonstrated. Examples of having independently designed, built, or automated a tool, process, or system will be required.
• Self-starter with an entrepreneurial approach: comfortable defining your own roadmap, working through ambiguity, and driving projects from idea to production with minimal oversight.
• Proficiency with Databricks and one or more data analysis/visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Python, Alteryx, or SQL (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server), plus advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with data warehousing, database management, and/or data modeling.
• Familiarity with utilizing LLMs/AI tools in workflows.
• Experience with Enterprise Financial Forecasting/EPM tools (Hyperion, OneStream, Anaplan, Planful) is a plus.
• Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Strong desire and willingness to learn new tools and technologies quickly.
