Position Title: Lecturer of Mechanical Engineering

Job Description: Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: The Department of Mechanical Engineering, in the College of Engineering at Iowa State University (ISU), invites applications for the position of a temporary, non-tenure eligible teaching faculty.
Successful candidates will be expected to teach a course in mechanical engineering, carry our effective instruction in undergraduate mechanical engineering courses, including lecture and laboratory courses based on department needs, freshman courses, curriculum coordination and other responsibilities related to the teaching mission of the university, such as committee work or mentoring of undergraduate students.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related discipline
Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching mechanical engineering or engineering courses at the university level.
Department/Program & College Description: The Department of Mechanical Engineering is nationally recognized for its interdisciplinary research and educational programs. Collaborative research is highly emphasized by the department and facilitated by on-campus research enterprises such as the Bioeconomy Institute, the Ames National Laboratory of the U.S. Department of Energy, Agricultural Research Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA-ARS), the Center for Non-Destructive Evaluation, and the Virtual Reality Applications Center.
