Area Risk & Portfolio Control The area safeguards the integrity and quality of the ING Mortgages NL portfolio by ensuring robust first-line risk management, effective control frameworks and high-quality decision-making. It plays a central role in balancing growth, customer interests and risk, translating strategy and regulation into a clear and actionable risk agenda, while enabling transformation and continuous improvement. Bringing together the teams Quality Management and Secured Funding Control, next to Safe Business Officers, the area connects portfolio oversight, operational quality and first line risk. It ensures risks are identified, managed and embedded in both day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives, including large-scale transformation programmes. The area acts as the primary business counterpart for first-line risk management, driving direction, prioritisation and alignment, and ensuring ownership is anchored in the business. At its core, it combines strong governance with a forward-looking perspective, using insights to improve decision-making and strengthen risk culture. Purpose of the job As Area Lead Risk & Portfolio Control, you are a member of the Mortgages NL Leadership Team and responsible for shaping and steering the overall risk, control and quality agenda of ING Mortgages NL. You ensure sound decision-making, customer interests and sustainable performance remain at the heart of everything we do. The role combines strategic leadership, business partnering and organisational development at the intersection of business, risk, transformation and governance. You act as the key business counterpart for first-line risk management and translate business objectives into effective risk and control outcomes. As a Leadership Team member, you contribute beyond your own domain and actively shape the future direction, capabilities and culture of ING Wonen. Your responsibilities

• Steer the overall risk, control and quality agenda of ING Wonen and ensure alignment with business strategy and priorities. • Act as trusted advisor and sparring partner to the Tribe Lead, Leadership Team and senior stakeholders on governance, risk and control topics. • Lead and develop the Risk & Portfolio Control domain, ensuring strong performance, clear priorities and continuous improvement. • Drive effective collaboration between business, risk, compliance and audit • Ensure that risk and control considerations are embedded in strategic decision-making, transformation initiatives and day-to-day business execution. • Foster a strong risk culture, ownership mindset and customer-focused approach across the organisation. • Contribute to the strategic direction, organisational effectiveness and long-term success of ING Wonen as a member of the Leadership Team. • Drive talent development, succession planning and capability building, helping to create a strong pipeline of future leaders and specialists. • You navigate complexity, influence at senior level and translate strategy into clear priorities and action. • You bring extensive experience in risk management, business control, governance or a related leadership discipline. • You have a strong understanding of non-financial risk, control frameworks and regulatory environments, and translate these into pragmatic, business-relevant outcomes. • You have proven experience operating at senior management level, acting as a trusted advisor and sparring partner • You demonstrate strong leadership, with a track record of building high-performing teams and developing talent. • You combine analytical strength with a pragmatic, execution-driven mindset. • You bring deep knowledge of the Dutch mortgage market, including its intermediary‑driven dynamics, competitive landscape and regulatory environment. • You have a strong understanding of Dutch mortgage products and customer segments, including how complexity translates into risk and control decisions • You bring experience in leading change and transformation in a complex environment.
