Job Description Summary This Senior Engineer will lead efforts to apply AI/ML technologies to improve engineering productivity, enhance performance modeling capabilities, and accelerate the development of next-generation tools. This role will partner across HDPE and broader GE Vernova network to identify opportunities, shape strategy, and enable practical AI-enabled solutions that create measurable business impact.
Job Description ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
AI/ML Strategy & Execution
• Develop and execute short-term and long-term AI/ML strategies • Assess feasibility of AI ideas and troubleshoot implementation challenges • Identify and deliver low-investment, high-impact AI projects
Performance Modeling & Software Development
• Advance plant performance modeling software aligned with multi-generational product plans • Make architectural design decisions in multi-platform environments • Write high-quality code using Fortran, Python, C#, C++, VB, or Java
Next Generation Tool Development
• Broader user engagement and gap analysis of the current tools • Contribute to evolution of current software into next-generation tools • Enable sunset of legacy plant tools through smooth transitions
Process Improvement
• Stay informed on AI/ML developments and share lean best practices • Identify repetitive and non-value-added work across tools • Apply AI/ML and related technologies to create measurable productivity gain
Collaboration & Communication
• Partner across HDPE and GE Vernova networks to shape strategy • Provide monthly project updates to team and leadership • Translate technical concepts for diverse audiences
Team Development
• Mentor team members and build technical capability in the AI space • Develop training recommendations for the team and provide demos • Connect team with AI experts and resources across GE Vernova
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Aero, Thermal, Chemical Engineering, or related • Advanced understanding of software programming in one or more of the following languages: Fortran, Python, C, C++, C#, VB, JAVA • 8+ years of design experience in gas turbine, steam turbine or combined cycle product development/performance modelling and/or development of software tools. • Proven track record of Tool ownership and cross functional collaboration. • Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies. • Proven track record of the implementation of AI and ML projects • Consistent Demonstration of GE Vernova Way principles (Innovation, Customer focus, Lean, One Team, Accountable)
Desired Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in mechanical, Aero, Thermal, Chemical Engineering, or related • AIML/Gen AI or related Official Certification • Edison Engineering Development Program graduate
