Job Overview: The Senior Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the overall architecture of our IT systems to support the organization's current and future needs. The Senior Architect will have a strong background in IT infrastructure, systems integration, and software development, with the ability to analyze complex problems and design innovative solutions. He/she will be responsible for providing strategic direction, designing complex IT solutions, and mentoring junior architects. This architect will be responsible for designing enterprise data models, defining metadata and governance standards, analyzing data quality issues, implementing MDM matching and survivorship strategies, evaluating emerging technologies, and enabling AI-driven automation across the enterprise data ecosystem. Working closely with Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Data Stewards, and Business SMEs, the architect will translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions that improve data quality, governance, discoverability, and business value.
Summary of Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain the organization's IT architecture framework, ensuring alignment with business objectives, industry best practices, and emerging technologies.
• Serve as the hands-on technical architect and subject matter expert for Data Governance, Data Quality, Master Data Management (MDM), Metadata Management, Data Catalog, and AI-enabled data management platforms.
• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise data architecture standards, canonical data models, metadata frameworks, and governance practices that promote trusted, discoverable, and reusable data assets.
• Lead technical design and configuration of MDM solutions, including data modeling, matching, survivorship, hierarchy management, and integration patterns across critical business domains.
• Analyze enterprise data quality issues through data profiling, root cause analysis, quality assessments, and measurement frameworks; define remediation strategies and business rules to improve data reliability and compliance.
• Architect and optimize enterprise Data Catalog and Metadata Management capabilities, including business glossary, lineage, classification, stewardship, and metadata enrichment processes.
• Identify and implement AI, machine learning, and intelligent automation capabilities to enhance data quality monitoring, anomaly detection, metadata enrichment, entity resolution, stewardship workflows, and governance operations.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to architecture and development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural principles, standards, and guidelines.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements.
• Design end-to-end IT solutions, including infrastructure, applications, data, and security components, to support business processes and workflows.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance the organization's IT capabilities and drive innovation.
• Lead architectural reviews and provide guidance to development teams to ensure adherence to architectural principles, standards, and guidelines.
• Identify and mitigate architectural risks and issues through proactive planning and effective communication with stakeholders.
• Define and maintain documentation related to IT architecture, including diagrams, standards, policies, and procedures.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in IT architecture, and apply knowledge to drive continuous improvement.
• Measurably impact company performance by delivering high quality, scalable data products.

Qualifications (Minimum Required):
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Experience (Minimum Required):
• 10 years of experience in Enterprise, Business, Information, Systems and Application, Solution Architectures.
• Strong expertise in designing and implementing enterprise-scale IT solutions across multiple platforms and technologies.
• Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise data architecture, Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Catalog, MDM, or related data management solutions.
• Must have experience implementing data solutions in Microsoft Azure
• In-depth knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their services.
• Proficiency in system integration techniques, including API design, microservices architecture, and message queuing protocols.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications Include:
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience in pharmaceutical R and D, clinical development and/or healthcare IT.
