In this freelance role, you will ensure seamless communication by supporting interpreters and event organizers, helping to break language barriers and facilitate access to vital information and services for diverse communities across Canada.The Conference Interpreting Technician?s key roles and responsibilities are as follows: Pre-Event Coordinationo Support event organizers with platform rental arrangements as neededo Create event links for interpreters and participants, or assist organizers with link creation as requiredo Obtain presentations, event materials, and coordination instructions from organizers in advanceo Verify that all necessary equipment is operational and meets event requirements (e.g., platform type, additional devices) Event Technical Support and Coordinationo Coordinate and facilitate an early log-in session for each event, ensuring a minimum duration of 30 minutes prior to start time.o Conduct comprehensive sound checks with speakers to eliminate echoes, background noise, and audio distortions before the event commences.o Verify interpreters have accessed the correct log-in link and are assigned to their designated interpretation channels.o Enable event recording promptly for the main floor and any additional interpretation channels as required.o Activate AI captioning for the main floor and other relevant channels, ensuring accessibility for all participants.o Share presentations and event materials with participants and interpreters in real time as speakers present, ensuring everyone has access to the content during the event.o Monitor and manage chats, polls, and breakout rooms during the event, responding to participant needs as necessary.o Provide immediate troubleshooting and technical support for issues such
