Job Summary As an Auto body prepper, you will be an integral part of our team, responsible for preparing vehicles for the painting process, which includes tasks such as sanding, priming, masking and minor filler work. You need to be skilled and meticulous to be able to fulfill the requirements of this job. This role also offers the potential for advancement within our painting department.RequirementsKey duties and responsibilitiesSand vehicle surfaces using sandpaper, grinders, or other tools to create a smooth surface in preparation for paintingWith attention to detail, apply masking tape and paper to protect areas of the vehicle that will not be paintedPrepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers and other substancesEnsure proper adhesion of paint by removing dirt, debris, and imperfections from the surfacesAssist with mixing paint and primers according to manufacturer specificationsAssist with operating and maintaining painting equipment and toolsCollaborate with the painting team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality workLog in hours of work in shop's web based management system.Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or managerQualifications:· Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions· Previous experience as an Auto Body Prepper or in a similar role within other industries· Knowledge of different types of sanding and masking techniques· Familiarity with automotive paints, primers, and painting equipment· Ability to work independently and as a team player· Strong problem-solving and time management skills· Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and work in a fast-paced environment· Valid driver's license· High school diploma Benefits· Employee discount for repairs· Opt-in to medical benefits after three months of employment.· Pension opt-in after one year of employment· Quarterly performance-based bonuses after one year of employmentTo apply, please send your resume and cover letter to [email protected] with subject line: OPEN JOB POSTING.
